What Puzzle & Print is
Puzzle & Print is a set of eight free printable puzzle and worksheet makers for teachers, homeschoolers and parents. They cover word searches, mazes, bingo cards, math drills, word scrambles, criss-cross puzzles and graph paper, and an activity book maker puts several into one PDF. Each sheet maker has themed pages that offer the same two things: a generator that builds a new sheet from your own words, numbers or settings, and ready-made sheets to print as they are.
There are 300 ready-made sheets across 75 themed pages, each one a PDF. Every word search, maze, drill, scramble and criss-cross among them keeps its answer key on a page of its own, every bingo set opens with a call list to tick off as words are called, and the graph paper has nothing to mark. None of it costs anything to download or print.
Every puzzle you make is built in your browser
When you type a spelling list, a set of guest names or a child’s name into the maker on any tool page, that text stays on your device. The maker never uploads, stores or logs it, and there is no copy of it on a server for anyone to lose, sell or be asked to hand over.
This is how the site is built rather than a promise about how we behave, which means you can check it rather than trust it. Open any maker other than the activity book maker, disconnect from the internet, and keep changing the sheet: new words, a new size or a new puzzle all rebuild it on screen, and Print this sheet still prints it, because the puzzle is generated by code already running in your browser. Downloading the PDF is the exception, since it fetches extra code and border art when first asked for.
What is on every sheet
An answer key on its own page for every puzzle and drill, so a sheet can be handed out as it is and marked afterwards without anyone seeing the answers first. Where a sheet has a themed border, the key leaves it off, since it is the teacher’s copy and needs no extra ink.
A layout for US Letter at 100% scale, drawn in black and white. Ink is the real cost of a printable, so there are no shaded backgrounds and no full-page colour, and graph and ruled paper are drawn at true measured spacing: a 5 mm grid measures 5 mm on paper.
No watermark, on the screen, the printed page or the PDF. Display advertising pays for the site, and the ads never appear on anything you print.
Who it is for
Teachers and classroom aides working in bulk: thirty unique bingo cards for a party, a week of drills at one sitting, a spelling list turned into a word search in about the time it takes to paste it in.
Parents at home who need something for the next twenty minutes, usually on a phone, usually without wanting to configure anything first. Those people are served by the maker on each themed page, which opens with a finished sheet already on screen, and by the ready-made PDFs just below it, which need no settings at all.
Common questions
Is Puzzle & Print really free?
Yes, all of it. There is no paid tier, no trial that expires, and no feature held back for a subscription. The site is funded by display advertising, which is why there are ads around the tools and why they never appear on anything you print.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account to create, and every tool and ready-made sheet works without you giving a name or an email address. The one form that asks for an address is an optional mailing list at the foot of the tool pages, and no download waits on it.
Can I use these sheets in my classroom or my business?
Yes. Print and use them freely at home, in classrooms, libraries and care settings, including classes you charge for. The one thing you may not do is resell the sheets themselves as a product.
Where do the puzzles come from?
A puzzle you make with one of the tools is generated at the moment you ask for it, by code running in your browser, which is why changing a word list gives you a genuinely different puzzle rather than a different crop of the same one. The ready-made sheets on each theme page are different: they are fixed PDFs, built once from set words and settings, so the same sheet downloads every time.
Will the sheets print properly?
Yes. Every sheet is laid out for US Letter at 100% scale, so printing needs no scaling or fitting, and on the two-page puzzle and drill PDFs the key is page two, so printing page one alone gives a handout with no answers on it. If a sheet ever prints wrong, tell us and it usually gets fixed.
